Dr. Shaina Nensi, a passionate optometrist, prioritizes patient care, advocacy, and community service. She has extensive experience in family eye care, vision therapy, pediatrics, neuro-rehabilitation, and eye care for special needs populations. Dr. Nensi currently serves as vice president of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) and is the owner of Avenue Optometry & Vision Therapy.
Dr. Nensi brings over a decade of experience, a commitment to collaboration, and a passion for vision rehabilitation to Avenue Road and offers comprehensive family and pediatric eye care, vision rehabilitation, and vision therapy—all built on her genuine commitment to patient care and accessible vision services.

Beyond the clinic walls, Dr. Nensi is a strong voice for increased accessibility to eye care, especially for underserved rural communities. She operates a clinic in Kasabonika Lake, a fly-in Indigenous community located 600 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, where she provides eye care to the families and residents of the island.
Beyond Canada, Dr. Nensi is a Global Impact Fellow with Unite for Sight and partners with local eye clinics in Ghana to teach patients about eye health and screen for various ocular pathologies.
